Building A Content Site

As a marketer, we have to leverage our time as well as other people skills. We can pay for the writer to do the content for us. With this method, we can complete the site within two months or less. If you are good at the topic, you can write for the content. For me, I'm more interested to do the marketing and planning.

You can put up the Adsense after you finished the content. Actually, it doesn't matter how many pages you have but Google tends to favour content site over single sales page.

About the earning ratio, I got about 1:1 - 1:3 from affiliations vs Adsense. I find out lot of people got their major income from Adsense. If you read the previous two issue of Fortune magazine, http://www.mobiletracker.net/ receive monthly average of US$5000 cheque from Google. The owner, Jon Gales is only 19.

You can see the power of Adsense. However, I think we shouldn't fully rely on Adsense as it is highly depend on those publisher using PPC. If they find the ads from content site is not targeted enough, they can disable their ads to show in Adsense network. The best is to focus more to presell the merchant products.

The $300 a month target is very conservative. If that's all you earn, you've done something "wrong". You haven't chosen profitable keywords carefully enough, you haven't built enough attractive, keyword-rich pages, you haven't learned the basics of optimizing pages for search engines, or you haven't attracted enough good quality links to your site. That's the wonderful thing about this business. You can make lots of mistakes and still earn useful money. Just don't make TOO many mistakes.
